How does SSLC Work?​

We provide teaching and tuition for small groups of pupils. The groups consist of a maximum of six pupils. We offer Ks3, GCSE and A level Science tuition. We are currently based in Woodford. ​ Classes will be coming to other locations in North and East London soon.

How much does it cost?

Each GCSE and A level session lasts one hour and 30 minutes and costs £22.50. Ks3 groups last one hour and cost £15.00. After your initial lesson, we ask that you commit yourself to an eight week block of lessons to secure your place in the group. You can pay by cash or bank transfer.

What will SSLC can offer students?

A clear understanding of all the scientific content needed for the new Linear Specifications (GCSE 9-1 and A level) A focus on exam technique and the skills required to succeed in science exams and build confidence. A recognition of A01, A02 and A03 questions. The skills needed to apply knowledge, analyse data and use maths in science,in order to achieve top grades in science exams. Our tutors will help you meet and exceed your Science target grade.

How wide is your catchment area for pupils

What feedback will Students/parents receive?

Students will complete exam questions in every session, these will be marked and students will be given feedback. Parents and students will regularly receive feedback on their child's progress via email. This will include areas of the specificaton covered, how they performed in the session and how they can improve even further if necessary. This is in addition to parents being able to speak to us on the phone or in person at the end of the session.

How do I apply for a place on a group at SSLC?

Simply ring or email us and we will discuss availability with you and put you on a group with the location and time that best suits you. rent?

What happens if the group that I want to join is full?

We will take all your details and put you on a waiting list and contact you as soon as a space becomes available.

How are SSLC different?

The staff at SSLC are not just tutors but outstanding teachers with many years of experience, helping pupils excel and make exceptional progress in science. Our sessions are interactive, we use ICT and proven AFL techniques to engage students and enable them to succeed in science exams. What happens if I sign up for eight sessions but my child is ill or has an appointment and so misses a lesson? We will give your child another lesson outside the eight week block. We allow up to three missed sessions per year or one per eight weeks.
